Working hours: The role will include working 8.30-5.30pm during the week and weekends.

*   Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in the cafe and shop.

*   Operating the till and processing payments accurately.

*   Assisting customers with retail purchases and providing product information.

*   Creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere for customers to enjoy their visit.

*   Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations.

 

Requirements:

*   Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred.

*   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

*   Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

*   Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation.

*   Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.

Job Title: Chef and Hospitality Supervisor

Location: Slaithwaite, HD7 5AN

Type of Employment: full or Part-Time

Acorn & Pip is seeking a talented and passionate Chef and Hospitality Supervisor to join our small team and lead the front of house and kitchen operations in our concept store and café located in the heart of Slaithwaite village, Huddersfield. We offer a range of carefully curated toys, clothing, gifts, and homeware with kids in mind, paired with a fresh, locally-sourced, simple food and drink menu.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our guests have an extraordinary culinary and hospitality experience by leading the kitchen team, managing daily store operations, and supervising a team of retail and hospitality staff.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and motivate the kitchen team and hospitality staff whilst fostering a positive working environment

    • Manage the kitchen operations including ingredient sourcing, preparation, cooking, menu development, maintenance of kitchen equipment and hygiene standards

    • Provide hands-on training and coaching to team members in order to achieve excellent culinary and customer service standards

  • Ensure the café and store are well-presented, clean, and organized, according to brand standards

    • Maintain quality control of food and drink offerings, ensuring consistency and customer satisfaction

    • Initiate and implement strategies to improve store sales, customer satisfaction, and efficiency

    • Manage inventory control and ordering to ensure stock is maintained and rotated effectively

    • Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for both staff and customers

    Requirements:

      • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a chef and hospitality supervision role, preferably within a similar environment

  • Proven ability to manage a team with strong leadership skills

      • Exceptional culinary and customer service skills

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and experience with food preparation and handling

    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, management, and external vendors

    • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

    • Passion for mindfulness, authenticity, and creating memorable culinary experiences for customers and their families
